The PocketShrink apps are self-diagnosis tools.
The app can connect you with other people in a similar situation as yourself through an interactive forum.
The app creates a special community that is gated and can only be accessed by other people who have purchased this app. These communities have proved to be of great help to people as they support each other.
PocketShrink Borderline Personality Disorder allows a user who has concerns around their interpersonal relationships, intensity of behavior and emotions, and self-image to gain some self understanding and a rough gauge on whether they should seek further medical advice. It also allows them to see the results of other anonymous users of the app who have the same concerns as themselves.
Additionally, if you are having particular difficulties with one specific friend, boyfriend or girlfriend, child or work colleague but all of your other relationships are stable and harmonious, using the app may give some insight into their behavior and why it may occur.
The app is simple and easy to use. It was written by a practicing psychologist and is based upon the latest diagnostic and statistical manuals (DSM IV).
Optimised for IOS 9 and later versions
Ratings and Reviews
I think this a great idea for an app. But it has a few glitches.
I can put in a new discussion but i don't seem to be able to make a comment. An upgrade to make it more user friendly would be really good as it would allow more people to discuss ideas and brainstorm about possible recovery. If it's funds that are needed that is stopping this from happening, then maybe we could all get together help this site??? I sure as hell wouldn't mind paying $10 or what ever to possibly help our lives. Because it's ruining mine and most likely yours if you are reading this. I don't know? I'm just trying to come up with ideas....:-(
Not really useful
It would be great if this app had some further information about treatment options, self-help ideas, safety planning, messages of hope or something similar. All it really has is a simplistic questionnaire, which basically just goes through the diagnostic criteria and asks if you have them, and a forum that seems pretty underused and unfocused. I uninstalled.
There’s a bug on the captcha word verification when you try and sign up for an account. So I paid money for this app but only could use a few features.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
