Most useful travel app
I have many map apps that I use when travelling but the most useful is CityMaps2Go, I have been using it for over 10 years. I plan my trip in advance by marking hotels, transport locations, turn offs, parking areas and sites I want to see and writing personal notes for these locations that I can access as I am using it. I download the maps, so I’m not reliant on internet and use them to locate the places I need either on foot or by car. I like the ‘plan view’ of the map and the way it interacts with my GPS, it’s simple and easily readable. I also use the app in conjunction with other map apps as I prefer to check my location in aerial view which is less confusing. So for me this is the perfect planning tool and I wouldn’t travel without it.
Great for plannng
This is an excellent app to use for planning. Create a list and then plan your sightseeing for the day. We create a list for a city including our hotel and then break our sightseeing into segments, eg, walk west, then north etc.
The app always helps us to walk back to our hotel. If when walking you see a restaurant you would like to return to, drop that location onto the list, name it and return when you want to.
The app also synchs across the ipad and iphone. Plan at home before you leave on the ipad and have it all in your pocket on the iphone.

Provides safety and confidence
Fabulous app. Real life saver in back streets of Saigon or NhaTrang and others. Fantastic for showing distance from and to bus stops. Or bookmarking where you got off bus.
Good to have paper backup for place like Hong Kong where heights of skyscrapers disrupted capacity to obtain trig points to enable phone to locate position. No way around that one. With backup battery I would use it all day. Great for cab drivers to see you are tracking where you are.
Can't recommend this app enough.
