Cultural Identities

I played Civ Rev 1 and found it to be a great iOS game, pretty much better than anything else out there and now in playing Civ Rev 2 I find that this barely reached my standards. One thing about CR1 was that the differences between civilisations were much more shown, with each one having a signature unit and building. Now all I get are units that mostly don't actually show up on my build menu, merely showing the basic and root unit, such as a horseman instead of a cataphract, or a knight instead of a samurai. Also, I believe that the cultural buildings and wonders specific for each civ where a great addition to the previous game, like the gets for Mongols or salons for the French. Now the 50 production wonders also once specific to each civ have been made available to all and this reduces the smooth play, at least to me. If say, an expansion was released that added proper civ buildings or wonders and the units were fixed this would pretty much allay all of my concerns. I'm looking forward to new additions like more PC or console features, and the next instalment in the iOS series .

Big disappointment - not worth the money

After Civ Rev 1 I was expecting some improvements, but this is a huge step backwards and definitely was not worth the money. The interface is appalling - half the time the buttons and unit info is in the way, and the other half of the time it disappears before I select an action. There's no way to know what building you've just built when you get the city info screen after building completion. Once you've built everything, you can't divert production in a city to cash or culture like on the PC version. If your production is high, and you choose to build units (your only option if you've built all of the buildings and wonders), you can end up with over 100 new units produced per turn in a single city, making the game completely unplayable. By the way, why on earth make modern infantry become obsolete? The graphics are full of bugs and weird sloppy modelling, especially when it comes to battles and leaders. Really limited choice of Civs - where are the Babylonians? Vikings? And just like Civ Rev 1, victories are completely underwhelming. The whole production screams of a serious lack of testing and zero interest in resolving issues other reviewers have already identified a long time ago now. Lift your game 2K.

Good to have back in App Store but pls make some small fixes to improve gameplay...

Great to have this app back as have been sorely missing since iOS 11.

Love this app but needs some small tweaks to remove annoyance factor with gameplay and make 5 star experience:
- PLEASE, PLEASE allow for the battle animations to be speeded up or interrupted. They are very nice but when you have seen them 10,000 times they are incredibly annoying and really slow down the gameplay.
- when cycling between units if I hit the unit button to cycle to the next unit, put that unit to the end so it doesn’t keep on coming up the next time. Even better provide a skip button for a unit I don’t want to move that turn (but also don’t want to fortify and then forget)
- fix the glitch where opponent units get trapped next to barbarian camps and never move. Let opponents attack barbarians to even up game.

That’s it. Super simple fixes and a 5 Star experience !

FYI There are still some bugs running on iPhone X (explosions don’t show properly and menus partially covered by notch. )
