Not bad, but not great till Apple Pay is supported

App is good but after experiencing Apple Pay whilst overseas with my 28 degrees card, I’m going to shift over to ANZ when I get back to Australia so that I can keep using it. Not as great an online experience, but I make payments more than check my bank, so want a better payment experience more than an app to check accounts and make a bpay payment every now and again.

The tight integration with iOS is a necessity (hover phone in any state over a card reader to make payment), and after reading plans about commbank creating an Apple Pay competitor with the other banks, which won’t have the same level of integration that makes Apple Pay great, it shows how out of touch CommBank are in this part of the mobile payments field and with the customers that demand a feature which is now years old. Kind of like when they thought we’d stick little NFC things with glue to the back of our phones (which I did and regretted within a week).

Until the app and Apple Pay are supported together on the iPhone, commbank are lacking big time on iOS. Someone or some people are out of touch there.

CommBank App

Hare Coakley

Best online bank in Australia, but needs to catch up with other banks with Apple Pay compatibility. The NFC tags don’t stick properly and should be one less attachment to your device. I don’t know why CommBank hasn’t already started this feature a year ago even though I did this with a SamsungS4 5 years ago. Besides all that the spend tracker is probably the best feature so far in the update. Real-time tracking and also the categorising of transactions. BUT to become a leader in the competition in finance an idea has sprung up just using CommBank app which has its own customisable categories and monthly budgets and saving targets features instead of using 3rd party finance apps like Pocketbook and MoneyBrilliant. Just an idea! But push to get the CommBank app on the Apple Pay feature.

Unable to login & no ApplePay

Current issues with app on iPhone X, deleting and reinstalling app will allow it to work once before again having issues and saying; “Sorry, something went wrong and we’re unable to complete your request right now. Please try logging in again later.” ...And it’s been that same issue for about a month. App when it’s working is otherwise great and industry leading, but no ApplePay is a true joke... the banks pass enough fees into the merchants and consumers, CBA can accept this one from Apple to keep their customers happy and move with the times. Cost of doing business and a consistent integrated payment solution is the future, not a bank by bank half baked attempt requiring an app to be launched first.
