Does the job pretty well

It works and works quickly and I've been using it for years. Occasional glitches but generally easy to overcome. It is quite simple and intuitive to use

Attention Required - Product needs to be updated

I've been using this product for 10years. Over the past couple of years, I thought my Mac was the problem with compression so I updated to the latest. Yet, the compression continues to take just as long. What the APP says it will do, it does not. It isn't sharing the work load accross the CPU or GPU when I encode through HVEC. It crashes within 20min of starting a compression that isn't H264. For software wanting to compete with Adobe, Apple, this has been let go to die. Sad :(

Enables exporting from Motion/FCPX & offers very fine control over encoding

it would be nice if the UI was given an overhaul as in Motion/FCPX, but no matter, it's not actually necessary to spend much time using the UI and I mostly use it from within Motion/FCPX to export video. It basically means that I can kick off a separate process and have all my videos encoded instead of waiting for the app to render it while I wait. I have some very specific encoding requirements as well (eg convert 1024x576 to 720p, while deinterlacing using a predictive algorithm, rather than averaging, and a specific algorithm for the resizing as well) and there's no other software I know of that can deliver this level of detail - so for me Compressor is well worth the outlay.
