Ratings and Reviews
Super fast and painless
Surprised how quick and easy it was to verify my ID. Signup was really simple and all my documents were verified instantly. The face recognition was pretty cool and in-person verification at the post office took one minute.
I expected this app to be pretty bad from the other reviews but it really wasn’t. Auspost have really picked up their game with their online services in the past couple of years and it shows! Constantly impressed at how much easier it is to get stuff done now.
Hopefully they don’t get privatised, they genuinely provide a great public service.
Update not allowed
Day 2 opened app ... advised 2 update app, clicked 2 update, taken 2 App Store, advised to open app, attempted, to be told that app needs updating, again, again, again in circular fashion ...
Previous attempt to initiate app yesterday stalled after I provided 3 of 4 items (licence foto, Medicare details, passport details): 4th option, inapplicable, I don’t have an international passport + visa: I was born in Australia & have lived all my life in Australia as part of 4 generations of armed forces service family ... numerous attempts to provide selfy failed because app felt there was more than just my face: maybe it was my beard that threw the app? Maybe the beard now is different than the driving licence beard foto? Good luck with your app: I sought it only because an application for a BP plus card directed me to seek it ... woftam presently.
Tons of issues during registration
So registration for me was fairly ok. But when I was trying to register my wife, who’s on the same medicare card could not be registered.
If your name is big, your passport can still have it printed correctly however when it comes to medicare card, they have limitations on how many characters can be printed and they put initials on the card although in their system the name is exactly as it is in passport (passport was provided to create medicare account in the first place).
Now because passport has full name without initials while medicare has full name with initials (printed on the card), verification is failing.
I raised this issue with them weeks ago - no resolution so far and per them this is how things are and theres nothing they can/want to do to verify such cases! Whereas they say they wanna keep improving the app :)?
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
