Editors' Notes

We’d be lost without Dropbox—it’s an indispensable part of our digital toolbox. But for all its usefulness, the thing we appreciate most about this cloud-storage app is how little we have to think about it. Whether we’re sharing documents between devices, uploading photos directly from our camera, or emailing large files to friends, it all just works—seamlessly and effortlessly.

Getting lots of random crashes

Uploaded a perfectly safe PDF file to dropbox from my PC and then tried to download it using this. Thanks to it insisting always trying to open the PDF straight after I download it, it freezes on an infinity busy status. And closing the app & re-opening does nothing. So you do a hard reset and that does nothing too as it always goes into your last recent folder/file. All I wanted to do was to open it in iBooks and it simply would not let me. So then I'm forced to delete the file and do another hard reset just to get it to stop attempting

Perhaps there's something wrong with the PDF file that doesn't make it entirely compatible for whatever reason (reuploading made no difference) but Dropbox shouldn't automatically open the file straight after it finishes downloading

Aside from that it works fine but the downloader UI could be better

Great product but the one flaw we have found is seamlessly replicating a physical copy of the file on your iPad or iPhone. The only way to do this is to mark the required files as "favorites" on an individual basis. Then it will bring a physical copy to the iPad. Otherwise it only shows a list of files that are up on the drop box server and when you click on the file it will then pull it down to the device. There doesn't seem to be a way to override this functionality.

If like us, you need a local copy on the device for all files in drop box without any other effort than placing the file in the windows dropbox folder, then this product doesn't quite do the job.

This caveat needs to be highlighted or there need to be a user override feature that can make it work this way.
