"Far and away the best language-learning app." —The Wall Street Journal

"Duolingo may hold the secret to the future of education."—TIME Magazine

Duolingo is changing the way people learn languages.

With Duolingo, you learn a language completely for free. You have fun while you learn, leveling up and competing with friends.

Yeah, it's pretty sweet.

Handy language help

While duolingo does come up with some strange sentences (eg. Mein gegner hat keine haare, or my opponent does not have hair) it's been a great app to supplement my learning of the German language. The lessons are short enough to practice in those small amounts of time you may find in your day and motivates you to continue learning with the streaks, pushing you to do a bit each day.

Lately they've introduced ads to keep the app free, which is fair enough. I even like the way they've integrated them into the end of each lesson with the heading 'this ad keeps education free', reminding us not to get irritated but understand that it is what it is.

Thank you for creating this app. From an appreciative user :)

Please Change

I love this game and it has helped me so much with my French and Spanish, but I hate how now we have lives. It is very difficult to get through a level without losing a couple of lives, it is outrageous that we fave to wait four hours for one piece of our health. I used to be addicted to this game but now it's frustrating and annoying, especially if I have waited four hours and make a mistake on the last bit of my level and than have to start it all over again. Please can you get rid of the health bars altogether or make it harder to lose Heath or put more bars in or not have to wait for four hours just get a little bit of health. Thank you.

Amazing App

When I started using Duolingo, it was from my computer. It worked wonderfully from there as well as in its app form on a phone. Duolingo is a brilliant and addictive way through which to learn a language, I would recommend it to anyone attempting to learn a language. It is neat and accessible to use and as a learning tool is makes it much easier and always highly enjoyable.
I would literally pay to have a Finnish course introduced, though. I am having a great deal of trouble learning it and accessing resources and I know Duolingo would be the best way in which to learn such a language. Pretty please?
