ABOUT THE AUTHOR/ARTIST
Professor Potts is a dashing investigator who loves nothing more than jet-setting around the world exploring scientific mysteries. His butler has a PhD in nuclear science and his dog will only eat bones from the Jurassic period.
Aidan Potts -his alter ego- has a slightly more tedious biography. Aidan was born in London 1963 and 6 months later he moved to Nigeria, followed by Bogota, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Tripoli, Libya and the Turks and Caicos. He studied History of Art at University College London, then began working as an illustrator for the British press. Among his books are “Uneversaurus” and “The Smash Smash Truck”.

Developer Response ,
Hello I am the author, illustrator and creator of this app. As I work alone with limited funds I am prone to making mistakes. I am very, very sorry for the loss of data which means previous buyers of the app can no longer access the full version. I take customer satisfaction very seriously and you can contact me through the app, the Facebook page, my website or by emailing me at profpotts@professorpotts .com. I will refund you in full, or supply you with a free version of the app. I don’t want anyone to feel ripped off. Once again my sincere apologies and please could you edit your comment to reflect my genuine attempt to do the right thing. Many thanks Aidan Potts
To start with it has a good definition of idiom and examples to back it up. There are of course many more but as an introduction to the concept and helping non native speakers of English who are baffled by them it is a start. Let us have lots more because their origin is interesting to English speakers.
This is a really good app. Pleasant on the eye, and really helpful to understand how idioms came about. This makes them easier to teach to ESL students, and for them to remember. However, the main thins missing is an alphabetic search facility - then more idioms. Please add an alphabet search! Now I must say that the iPone app does have an index but still not the iPad app
