Loyal but a little hesitant

I've been an Evernote user since 2015. I use it for personal record keeping and work notes. It was the best option available at the time I started using it. Lately, some inconsistencies have really put me off. For example, I used to have a paid account. I tried a few times to check on which subscription I had etc becuase I also took advantage of the Moleskine collaoration which provided some subscription credit. Although that seems to no longer exist, I still look for my details to find I have an unpaid account now. There are details in the app stores stating that subscriptions are charged through iTunes but I can't find a link to any in-app purchases. When it comes to sharing my data directly with an app provider, I tend to opt out. I feel much safer to purchase things via the App Store and yet, I can't seem to.
Also lot of support links are broken and the help files are not as helpful as they used to be.
That said, I've spent the past 6 months sampling other notetaking/record keeping apps and I just can't find on as fully featured as Evernote.
I would feel more comfortable if there was some tranparency around the longer term strategy around the product and also if I could subscribe easily via iTunes, I probably would. The inconsistencies make me nervous.
Finger crossed that this product continues, my whole life for the past 8 years is in there.

A step backwards

I've loved Evernote and have been a premium subscriber for a number of years now, but the latest update seems to be a big step backwards. First of all, the app keeps crashing and freezing on both my computers and my iPhone. SecondlyNo longer can you just type in a tag, you have to click on the relvant ones which slow things down. And I can no longer continuously scroll through a PDF enabling me to read and see the whole thing, I have to click on to the next page, then scroll back tot he top to see the nxt page. This is particularly frustrating when using Evernote in a classroom setting. The search fuction has also become infuritating. Another issue I've had a for a while is that I can't generate a link to share a folder with a large group of students, as I might on Dropbox, I have to fill individual email addresses in to give each person access. Starting to look for other app solutions.

Reliable and Effective

I have been using Evernote for a pretty long time now (since 2014) and I would not change it for any other app. I love that I can organise notes into “notebooks” which I can then group. I use this to take lecture notes, although it’s pretty good when planning events and you need to pull resources from multiple media or make lists. It is compatible with my macbook, ipad and iPhone which means I can easily access my notes at any time - including offline. Furthermore, I can also access them online through a browser if I am using another device - and I do all of that FOR FREE. Being a student, this is a very important point for me. All of my content is in the same app, making it easy to access or search through in a rush but still seperated enough that it is very organised. There are multiple options to upgrade to a paying service if you have a business and have more needs, but the free version is so versatile that I think most people would be more than satisfied with it. I reccommend using it for a decent amount of time before making the decision to upgrade. Other great features include sharing notes with other members who can edit or view, being able to take screenshot and straight away place it in a note, being able to record, separating the page and more.
