Rik Kangaroo ,

Absolutely brilliant. Empowers Photos to work with ext apps.

If you’re wanting to use Photos as your catalog program, but use external editors such as Nik Colllection or Affinity or Irridient Developer, for instance, then this magic little app is what you need.

It runs as an external editor link from Photos, loads its own snazzy interface to do the file conversion and load any photo editor that works with that file type. The list of available editors is refined to those that work with the file type you choose to output.

For instance, if you chose to output a RAW file, then editors that work with those files will appear as options, but others such as Nik Collection, won’t appear. Choose instead to output a TIFF or JPEG file and editors able to work with those files will appear.

You can also create a favourites list of editors to quickly access the ones you want rather than the odd hodge podge that might be on your computer.

Once you’ve finsihed the edit, you can save the edited file if it’s not replaced the version you started with.

It’s brilliantly done and a real gift at $1.49.

Does the job perfectly.

I don’t know why “photos” doesn’t integrate external applications like iPhoto did, but that is a huge step backwards in my opinion. This program fills the gap perfectly, and it works with Photoshop (a program i am intimately familiar with, and could not be bothered learning another program to that depth). Very happy purchaser.

Well Photos just got better

This is an app that will have me using Photos to manage my library and finally be able to access the external editor(s) I prefer.
A great app.
Something so simple that is so useful.
Well worth the money.
