Customer Reviews

Hard to be all things to all people, but Flickr does a decent job

I use Flickr as an online archive of all my photos, and a place to showcase the ones I want to share publicly. For browsing that archive, this app is decent (especially once you explore the search capabilities), but is missing a few details (such as browsing your Collections of albums).

For others, this app is an Instagram competitor, complete with camera app replacement a filters. Those features, which I don't use, clutter this app for me and make the features I do use more difficult to find.

I appreciate Flickr has a hard job making one app for all these different use cases, and I wonder if it might consider pulling a Foursquare and splitting the app into two or even three: Flickr Library, Flickr Camera, and Flickr Community.

Just rediscovered this service. 1TB photos?!

A suggestion right now is to seriously support Apple live photos! It would be amazing to actually have a place back them up to and view them online just like I can on my iPhone. (Including the brief animation when swiping next)

Also maybe a way to delete photos that I delete from the camera roll. Maybe a review system where the service notices photos in the camera roll are no longer there, so the Flickr copy is shown in a special album (not deleted or moved from current place) where the user can, if desired also delete it from the service.

Not many advantages over the website

The app can troublesome at first- it needed to be reinstalled before it worked properly. Another thing I found was that you appear to be limited to a finite amount of text input when typing in the description of a photo. The website doesn't have this issue. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Verdict: Preferable to using the mobile website, there are some issues that need to be ironed out.
