Excellent game & a strong story to boot

Latest v1.5.3 update for the game engine following the decision to go fully paid & add the Casual Mode has changed how this game is played; and so far it's an interesting experience. Previously on v1.2 you could see the dice game area as a separate field and track the dice roll at all times, but this has changed now to "blind rolls" if you're unhappy with the first results and stuck on real pot luck with whatever you get next. You also can't easily track your Fitness level from before without checking your character sheet, so if you rush a story skill roll you could end up backfiring your planned run. The previous game-breaking bugs game of the buggy dice roll & most in-game/help section button choices that were not responding properly on my iPhone 4S (when they previously worked flawlessly on v1.2) have been solved on v1.5.3 (hit box for the buttons is still a little sensitive, but a massive improvement). If you have a fully paid copy on v1.2 and use an iPhone 4S, you're good to go again. And if you are a newcomer to Tin Man storybook games, this still remains as the best flagship title to try out first before you play any other Game Book Adventure: the tight story paths, interesting main characters and cunning action challenges are an excellent introduction to the series.

Spirit of the game books of yore?

Some of my most vivid and enjoyable childhood memories involve books with green spines and covers adorned with serviceable artwork. Sound familiar? You probably grew up playing Fighting Fantasy books too.

The Gamebook Adventure series has gone from strength to strength which each successive release, and Infinite Universe, the latest addition to the line, is no exception.

Some of this success can be attributed to editor of the last few, and author of this entry, Brewin.

In Infinite Universe, Brewin presents the framework of a story in which you travel through space and time. What you do is up to you.

Brewin channels the spirit of the classics of the genre. There are great swathes of self awareness, unique humour, action and adventure, described with an attention to detail that immerses you in the world.

Recommended.

An Exciting and Deep Sci-Fi Adventure!

I don't usually write many reviews but with Infinite Universe I felt I just had to share my thoughts with everyone.

The world of IU is so immersive and exciting I found myself playing multiple playthroughs so just I could experience more. Danger lurks around every corner, and you must carefully decide who to trust to survive.

I'm probably younger than the target audience, and I never got into gamebooks the first time round but even as a modern console gamer, a fan of Mass Effect and the Bourne Identity books/movies I found this book right down my alley.

The first part is free so you really don't have much to lose having a read through. Highly recommended!
