Google Authenticator works with 2-Step Verification for your Google Account to provide an additional layer of security when signing in.

With 2-Step Verification, signing into your account will require both your password and a verification code you can generate with this app. Once configured, you can get verification codes without the need of a network or cellular connection.

Features include:
- Automatic setup via QR code

Notsure 9000

I required this application to authenticate one thing for an exam but because resets the numbers in an insanely short amount of time after they first appear and all other numbers to procede them don’t seem to work I was unable to authenticate using it (though I’m not entirely sure the first set of numbers would work either) it also didn’t help that each attempt yielded a set of numbers that remained event after closing the authentication window on the on the barcode side. Each set of numbers that remained after an attempt was also irritating to remove ; with the application asking wether your sure each time. A application like this should really work out of the box and as it seems to be the main one between mobile platforms, I would say that it is a Huge letdown

Requires correct date/time to work

Make sure you’ve chosen “set automatically” for your date & time (in iOS settings), because this App relies on it being correct in order to function.

Works well and is easy to setup new logins.

As the number of 2FA accounts I have grows, I would like to see a better way of organising or searching for them.

Actually makes your accounts less secure....

If your phone breaks you are stuffed. Even an encrypted backup doesn’t transfer this data which meant it wasn’t transferred to my travel phone and my main phone died whilst I was away and had to be totally replaced. Not all accounts which use 2FA can turn it off behinds the scenes of your phone is out of action. Or may take weeks to Do it. So this is a security flaw. It’s not that inconceivable that you could lose your phone and printed codes in a house fire. I highly advise you to not rely on this for 2FA.
