Description

24 shots for one film roll, after you finish the last shot of the film, you have to wait an hour to reload the film. Once you finish the roll, you have to wait full 3 days for the development processing to see the photos.

The Gudak Brand

The term ‘Gudagdali’ is an old Korean term for ‘outdated.' In today’s digital era where the ‘undo’ function is prevalent, we may have lost the ‘thrill’ of choosing and cherishing moments. The ‘aesthetics of waiting’ for printed photos may also have been lost. We, therefore, hope to go away from the mainstream routine of ‘taking many photos and picking out the few good ones’ and bring back that ‘Gudak Moment.’

P/Review Kills the Moment

Gudak Cam has been designed to focus on “moments to be remembered for a long time.” No matter how beautiful a photo is, it is just a memory of something and an ‘hommage’ of a moment and our team has intended to reproduce that memory and moment by eliminating the Instant Review feature of conventional digital cameras and reducing 95% of the conventional viewfinder feature, leaving only the least for taking shots.

New features of Gudak 2.0

The splash image of Gudak 2.0 will be selected from the Gudak photos which are uploaded in Instagram by users with Gudak hashtag(#gudak). You can share your own Gudak with other Gudak users all around the world.

In Gudak 2.0, B & W film feature has been added. When you want to change your color film to B&W film, please make sure a new film(with 24 cuts) is reloaded. Now you can meet stronger analog feeling on your photos.

Now you can find 'Go to Gudaker' in your Setting. Gudaker is a monthly online magazine that will function as a new communication channel between users and Gudak. It introduces Gudak’s new vibes, you can purchase limited collaboration goods from new designers & artists also the various Gudak goods.

3 days is way too long

Reduce wait time to one day

Developer Response ,

Hello, Juliaen10037744!

Thank you for your valuable opinion.
Now we are so used to smartphones,
that it might be really hard for us to wait for 3 days for the photos to develop.
However, we are sure that it will bring you a unique and fun experience as you take photos within the limited exposures in a roll of film and feel the excitement as you wait for 3 days for your pictures to appear finally :D
If you have any further comments to add to improve Gudak, you are always welcome to do so.

Thank you.

I rated it 5 stars before because I love its idea. However, after months of giving feedback, there was no change from the app developers. Idea of “waiting 72hrs of developing” was cool but it is outdated now, and it makes me feel inconvenient to use the app.
Below are my previous suggestions and the reasons I believe why it should be changed:

1. Most of film labs now can develop and return film rolls to customers within 24 hours. Want to make this app real? Reduce the waiting time from 3 days to 24 hours. Also can use advertisements to reward customers (ie watch one ads to gain 1 coin, and with 10 coins you can use "1 hour developing service", just like when you pay extra at film lab for fast process).

2. At the beginning of each roll, let us choose to pick an ASA to use for whole roll, which is much more like-film and it is how real disposable camera offers.
