Ratings and Reviews

Its okay but too many minor quirks to rate higher

Text objects seem to ‘jump’ and door openings flip occasionally. I can’t move rooms around - e.g. draw separate rooms then move them around to change a floor layout. When drawing a single wall it doesn’t dynamically show the length so I have to guess. I can’t add a wall or square by typing in lengths. Looks like lengths aren’t exact. When I draw a 1.00 x 1.00 room the room area should state 1 sqaure metre but most often shows something like 1.01 or 0.99 square metres. In the ‘doors’ selection there isn’t just a blank opening such like an archway or similar so I have to fudge it with a sliding door entrance instead. It’s almost impossible to select a manually drawn measuring line if that line is placed inside a room - trying to select it almost always selects the room walls instead so it’s extremely hard to move or delete the measuring line.
In summary could be a great product. Just a few more things to iron out. I see the potential but I am disappointed with paying for what is essentially a Beta version quality wise, of a product.

Decent, few bugs, could use some more features

For the price and as something that will quickly do some basic scale drawings it’s not too bad. It’s quick and easy to use and quite intuitive to figure out.

There are a few annoying bugs and features which could be fixed though, like resizing rooms distorting the rest of the plan (with or without the ‘cascade’ option checked) and furniture sometimes appearing outside the borders of the house after being deleted. The 3D render is very basic and totally not worth the price for the addon. Most of the furniture might as well just be a labelled box with some dimensions (and some of those default dimensions are pretty out there, make sure you measure stuff up yourself).

Stuff that is missing that’d make it better:
- It’d be nice to be able to pin walls in place to fix the cascading problems on resizes.
- Stairs go up, but don’t go down. This isn’t much of a problem in the basic house plan but mucks up the 3D render since even if you sink the stairs to floor level the floor still covers them up.
- Link stairs between floors.
- Export from the 3D render.
- Have a modifier key (or different mouse buttons) switch between pan, rotate and zoom on the 3D render. Having to click the buttons to switch between them is terrible. It might make sense for the iOS version, but not for OS X.

Great for floor planning but...

This has been exactly what I needed, playing around with different floor plans to see what might work in our extension.

However, I have used a base drawing of my existing house and I’m trying to draw extensions down the bottom of screen and have run out of room down the bottom. There is no option to pick up entire drawing and move up so I either have to draw the house again from scratch which I REALLY don’t want to do, or draw separate parts on the screen elsewhere.

I feel this is a really basic function that should be available!!
