Ratings and Reviews

What's happening, you now need to download each section individually. It is even worse for back issues, I had all copies from 2014 now I have to download each one again, one story at a time and if not permanently connect to wifi you can't get access to them. Don't think I will bother anymore. Which is pity was a great magazine.

Developer Response

Hi LizzardAir,

Thanks for your message. We are sorry to hear that you are having problems downloading the app. We value you as a dedicated Flight Safety Australia reader and certainly don’t want to lose you!

Unfortunately we had to change the app as the platform that we used stopped supporting it. While you will have to download each issue again, you won’t have to do it page by page. After you select the issue you want to view, have a look in the top right-hand corner for the download icon. It looks like a down arrow pointing into a tray. We agree—it certainly isn’t clear and will try and make some changes to make this more obvious. Watch this space!

I hope this will assist in you sticking with us.

Flight Safety Australia

A good innovation

While I liked the ‘paper’ magazine, I can see the sensibility of electronic distribution (and cost savings) and I am getting used to reading my reference documents from electronic readers. I really like that they haven’t just .pdf’d the old magazine but utilised the characteristics of the iPad. I’ll give another star if I find I actually read the magazine and not just download them!

FYI - From CASA website

“We are aware that our FSA app needs updating to be compatible with iOS 11. Due to a software platform change, we are currently rebuilding it in an endeavour to have the new app ready in the new year. We will be delivering a monthly app from January 2018 but in the meantime, you can stay up-to-date with the latest articles by visiting Flight Safety Australia.”
