What is the point of having a manual focus option, if it's just going to autofocus on something else after you leave it for your time lapse? I set this up to capture a 24 time lapse of a storm outside my window. I focused exactly on the sky when I left it to take a photo every 10 seconds. But when I come back to look at the video, after the first few shots the rest had refocused onto a smudge on my window, completely obscuring the sky into a blur. Steer clear of this app and it's lofty claims of a "manual focus".

Other than being completely useless with regards to focus and blurry results, it's a pretty cool app. If the focus was really manual with a slider, that locked in focus over the entire time lapse, then I would give this five stars.

Also, the exported video was very low quality, but the video stored in the app was crisp. Not good.

I also had a go at stop motion, but again the autofocus was a huge problem, as focus would readjust between each shot (even though I had the manual focus mode on, hmmm). Totally useless. If you want useable animations, then you should not get this app. It's not even worth the time it takes to download and then inevitably delete. I'll be looking at other time lapse apps that offer a true manual focus that STAYS on the focal length I set it at.

An Excellent Intro To Stop Motion

Jolyon's Review

We love this app. Set it up with a tripod holding your phone and you can either snap images manually or automatically every second or two. Unlike the comment suggested below, you can delete individual frames if you don't want them. The phone camera will refocus if another object becomes the priority in the view and there is no manual focus in that setting, but that's no big deal and this is still excellent value. Can export movies into your photo library then share. Make cartoons with your toys, film the sunset - load of options.

Awesome app! Replaces istopmotion

Great for stop motion videos! I love this app so much! You can operate an entire animation on your phone! I got ripped off by Boinx and their istopmotion program, but this one is free AND it has this nifty function where you can choose to use your phone's torch as the lighting!

However, the exposure and tilt lock doesn't seem to work and if it does, maybe have a help guide too. You cannot tell the difference when you switch between the automatic and manual setting. Other than that, the app is superb as I love the landscape cinema mode and the portrait square shooting mode - perfect for Instagram! Well done!
