Raz Kids “Tanya’s Money Problem"

The story Tanya’s Money Problem written by Ned Jensen is not an appropriate story for young children. It is indoctrination at a blatant level. Making money, financial gain, investing for financial profit are the themes of this “story"The two main characters are depicted in a biased stereotypical manner…male is cleverer, more astute financially and has an adult insight into shares and stocks, is ambitious, aiming to be a millionaire by 25! Female character however is not as intelligent, is a spender, thinks unrealistically about the value of money, is impatient and impulsive and is using feminine charms to con a loan out of her frugal brother. What a load of rubbish! How did this pass the most cursory of checks before publishing? I am so pleased I checked this story before introducing it to my students. I will not recommend RazKids to anyone.

A Good Start - Where is the rest?

Homeschool Highway

When I heard about this app I jumped at the chance to use this for my homeschooled son. We already use Learning A-Z programs (Raz-Kids, Reading A-Z, Science A-Z) on the PC and hard copy. The book variety is huge compared to that available on the PC (40-50 titles per level instead of 10-15 titles per level for PC). However, we were very unimpressed when the reward system doesn't work. The children earn stars for successfully completing tasks (reading, comprehension etc) but there is nowhere to spend these rewards and they do not update to the PC version oft the software.

There is no point offering rewards if you can't use them!

Eagerly awaiting an update or at least a reply from Support at Learning A-Z regarding this issue.

PS for this app to work you must be a paid member of BOTH Reading A-Z and Raz-Kids.

Have been using this for a while and love it both on PC and iPad, but now it just seems to crash. Not sure what the problem is but hope it is resolved soon. Pretty happy overall, would be even better if the iPad version had the record function of the PC version. Quite happy there isn't a reward rocket on the iPad version, but very glad the rewards are added to the PC version.
