What a brilliant game

I was almost a bit hesitent to buy this game when I saw the $10 price tag, but after playing it for about 10 minutes I realized that it was well worth the money. The game is staged all in black and white, has no music and absolutely beautiful sound effects. For example, upon being crushed to death you will hear a spine-chilling CRUNCH!... or when you have to rip a leg off the giant spider you will hear a nice SLURP!... it all makes this game a really beautiful experience. 5 stars without a second thought. I do, however, think that $10 may be a little bit much to pay, but I have been playing for a good 6 hours and I'm not quite sure I'm close to the finish yet. If you like puzzel games from the horror/thriller genre, then this game is for you!

Shoking and addictive

The $10 price tag was did make me hesitant about buying the game, and there was hardly any game description, but I'm so glad I did. There are parts in this game where you can't help be shocked at how the poor little guy meets his end. The sound effects are brilliant and the puzzles are really well thought out. I finished the game in about two days, but the thing was I couldn't stop playing it. If you do die, you start right at that same puzzle again. There are no lives or 'game overs' so you just keep playing until you figure out the puzzle. Once that puzzle is down, you can't help wondering what the next is, so you just keep playing. The controls are so simple. Highly addictive and highly recommended.

An excellent increase in standards...

I too thought the $10 was a bit steep but now believe LIMBO to be one of the best online games and well worth the three cups of coffee. Regardless of MAC or PC it is truly excellent.

LIMBO achieves one notable achievement: that of total transportation into a seriously dark storybook world. Insanely quirky and dark LIMBO had me transfixed from my first steps into the perfectly crafted Film Noir world. For a simple side scoll game the effect is excellent.

Now if only more game designers would considier the story and design as equal parts the games industry might be healthier. I can't wait for the next Playdead game to be released. And if you are thinking the $10 too much, buying a storybook with the same design and content would cost you three times the amount at least….
