Constant system errors make app useless
Realistically, this app will most often be used to recharge mobile credit, but for the past three months, a 'System Error' has occurred, which has meant that 'no recharge was processed'. If the app does not perform its core function, processing payments in this case, it is a waste of time (quite literally in this case).
As another reviewer has suggested, this app essentially functions as a glorified bookmark for redirection to the Optus website.
Optus, if you're going to have an app for management of phone credit, make sure it works, and if it stops working, fix it quickly. You're liable to annoy customers more than you would if you had no app at all.
No accurate real time usage
Unlike the Telstra app, the Optus app does not update data usage in real time, meaning you can't actually use the app for its main purpose - i.e. tracking your usage. I'll get an email saying my usage had hit 50%/100% and yet the app is still showing something lower. If I'm getting towards the end of my month's usage, it's impossible to work out if I have enough data remaining to download or upload something. I guess that means Optus has a higher chance of getting those extra $10 for extra 1GB data.
Working great now!
This app is working great now for the iPad. The update has fixed everything and I can now access all my plans and see my usage and my bills and everything the phone app can do. Great now!
