What's New in Version 3.0.5
No more "Unknown point" for little unknown airfields when using 'Nearest' feature.
For all those asking about SPFIB & Restricted Area, yes they're coming back soon when we get some time after OzRunways v3.0 is released
Buggy beyond belief
Without a doubt the most disappointing paid app on my iPad. For what promises to be a clean and simple interface to an existing website, it's borderline useless.
Biggest disappointment is the Flight Plan option. Can't edit anything if the first stage is near departure or already departed. Next to useless - all our planning is currently done on a PC, so if I want it via iPad I'm already 400nm from home and having to change thanks to changing requirement. Saved routes and saved aircraft combined should be capable of remembering every option selected. But no, may as well just start from scratch, because it doesn't remember I'm always IFR, it doesn't remember what extra equipment is with NAV/Z, doesnt remember the operator.
Exporting a plan from Ozrunways is even more disappointing. Doesn't account for fact my callsign and registration are different, plenty of other tiny little bugs. But completely inexcusable is the fact you cant submit (nor fix) a flight plan... you see it puts the first airfield in as a route designator and won't let you change it. An airport is not a route, it's an airport! You're going from YPAD .... "DCT" ..... Next waypoint. *sigh*
Disappointed I paid for buggy software, glad ozrunways was a trial... will be going with one of the other providers until this gets out of beta.
MUCH faster and all-in-one place that Airservices Australia website
All you need from Airservices Australia's site in one app you can take with you and use wherever you have internet. You can save the usual forecasts, charts, etc and with one tap you can update them all. Customizeable font size, alerts and watch and also printing it out (if you have AirPrint printer)... great app for all pilots in Australia. Thanks Rowan!!!
Money Well Spent!
