My Trip does not work
First of all, thanks for making a great app that we can all benefit from; it renders the fuel discount vouchers from supermarkets worthless since I can get a better price at non-affiliated petrol stations even without them, and only a block or two away too.
In the interest (mine) of having an even better app, I just want let you know that in the “My Trip” view, I am unable to type into the From and To text boxes to define a trip and see all the petrol stations along the way.
If you can fix this, then it would make this app a must-have for people who do road trips. Thank you.
Very good app and a great initiative
This app is very good. It is simple, easy to use and intuitive. All fuel prices reported on the app have been an exact match to the actual displayed price at each station. This is a great initiative by the NSW Govt to improve competition and transparency in the fuel industry (unlike the Victorian Govt which has disappointingly ruled out introducing such a scheme and advises people to use the useless RACV app which only Victorians that are RACV members can use and also has very incomplete/outdated/inaccurate data.
The only issue I have is that a couple of petrol stations appear to be missing in my city (Albury). These are the BP next to McDonald’s in East Albury and the Caltex on the corner of Hovell St & Wodonga Pl.
Other than that I would give the app 5 stars.
The only suggestions I would make for future improvement would be to be able to track the history of petrol prices over time at each individual petrol station, and also to see the average fuel price in city/region (not just Sydney).
More functionality = more stars!
-select multiple fuel types e.g 95 and 98 or Diesel and Prem Diesel;
-updates on price of specific brand(s) and fuel type;
-graph trends on specific stations, brands, areas;
-indication if a station offers a discount e.g Woolies, Coles, NRMA, other;
-fuel quality rating i.e. indicate stations that have had suspect fuel, type, date, no. of complaints, remedial/reparatory action;
-forecasts e.g. reminders/warnings of impending or regular price hikes/dips, such as holiday periods, fuel excise, global oil price/supply;
-L/100km calc. and tracker/graph. Monitor driver economy and indicate suspect fuel, or impending mechanical issues. User types in last 3 digits on ODO and L, app does the rest.
-User submit function; user can send info on fuel price, station out of order, out of fuel type, suspect fuel, complaints, or 5 star rating, or very busy. Can flag stations/brands that have consistent problems, and updates could allow drivers to plan alt fuel stop;
-A fill button, logs the current station you’re filling at. Can help with tracking and alerting on suspect fuel, to minimise no. of customers effected. (Automatically logs if using L/100km calc).
