Yay! Fixed, kind of

Version 3.0.5 was the best, before losing the plot. "Numbers" was the best program for working with numbers, before trying to make it into a word processor or graphics package. Some of the disaster of 3.1 has been fixed but it's heading away from useful mathematical tool and heading towards school toy. Still has reasonably intuitive interface and is a good program.

[update] My faith in the program is slowly being restored. “Numbers” is a handy, clean way of handling numbers - and that’s actually very useful to someone who uses mathematics in their life. I dread updates, particularly when I’m to do the accounts at midnight and it doesn’t work, but for a while now the program has been stable and reliable. Looks like a lesson learnt. P.S. make copies of your spreadsheets in Dropbox or email them to yourself, they still can disappear. With good computing practice however it’s ok.

Bad update

This was a great app before the update I could manage to do many things with it ! example like sending my files as one of four options Excel spreadsheet, PDF, numbers, extra but now I cannot choose it ! Now it does it automatically as numbers and my contacts cannot open the files unless they have the app which is pretty crappy and also the app seems to crash constantly were before it never did crash please return the old options back ASAP
Otherwise this is very useless to me and it will be deleted that will be a shame so whoever decided to ruin this app should be sacked fired from his position because he’s given apple a very bad name

No numeric keyboard?

I used to be a big fan of this app. Being able to drag around whole columns of numbers was cool. Then someone decided to dump the numeric and date keyboards. This is a spreadsheet program, not Word. Sheesh! Please fix.

Okay! The numeric keypad has reappeared!
But now I can’t drag columns anymore :(
I have merged three columns into one cell at the top of my spreadsheet to contain a heading. If I duplicate one of the sub columns, then try to move it, Numbers automatically selects all the columns under the merged cell not just the one I’m interested in. Tried to report this as a bug to Apple support but after typing in my ID and a verification number it told me to go away. Like Catweazle once said, Apple, “Nothing works!”
