What's New in Version 3.6.0
This update to Paper introduces a fast navigation sidebar for quickly searching and browsing between your work. We've improved the card preview to show your creations full screen so you can swipe between cards without accidentally marking them. This update also includes ink enhancements for Apple Pencil and a stylus settings option to use your finger to cut and paste.
SIDEBAR AND SEARCH
We've redesigned our basic navigation structure to be more efficient and we've added search. Moving between your work is now more like a sprint than a marathon.
FULL SCREEN PREVIEW
Swipe through your work full screen. We've made the previews in Paper big and beautiful so you don't have to enter edit mode to see the details.
We heard your feedback and adjusted Paper's inks for Apple Pencil. The previous ink pooling and transparency levels have been restored for the Write tool. The Draw tool's pressure response has been improved at flat drawing angles.
QUICK FINGER CUT & PASTE
In what we've dubbed "scissor hands", connecting Pencil by FiftyThree or Apple Pencil to Paper now gives you the option to automatically use the Cut tool when your finger touches the canvas. Your stylus can draw or write with the selected ink tool, and your finger can quickly cut and move pieces of your sketch. If you use Paper to take notes or arrange diagrams, you may find this particularly useful. To turn this feature on, go to Pencil Settings and select "Cut" from the list of options for your finger.

So this is by far my favourite inking tool. It kills anything else I've ever found for smooth ink on paper simulation. I love writing and drawing with it. And the latest version is pretty darn good. Except .... You failed to think about us lefties. Putting the "X" button in the top left corner to close the card is a complete screw up for those of a Southpaw persuasion as every few seconds we bump that button, closing the card. Which wouldn't be so bad except every time you open the card again you have to re-select a drawing tool. Major pain, thanks folks. Can you PLEASE rethink where this button is placed or make it have a slide action or something to avoid accidental closure? Other than that you have a dream inking tool that others should aspire to copy.
Not so bad, in fact actually quite good!
After not being so impressed with the original "hardware" device having multiple issues, I left the app and pencil behind.
Then, after recently purchasing an Apple Pencil I needed a simple drawing app and remembered Paper was really basic before. First thing is I notice an upgrade on many features and the UI and I like it. It has enough simplicity and drawing styles to make me look like I can draw, plus has enough functionality to better edit/delete whilst drawing. The Apple Pencil probably misses out on various drawing functions (as not actual device for this App), but it does fine enough for a quick drawing/sketching tool.
Why was my favourite app downgraded?
Please remove the June 6th update. its been so stressful. Before I could highlight things using the scissors and then tap the rubber to delete what I drew and now I cant do that. When I try to get the panel up so I can draw the full page of my draw wont close or it will open when I didnt want it to and before I could just tap on my folder, tap on my drawing....now I have to tap on my folder, move the sidebar, tap on my drawing, close full screen, fight to keep full screen of my drawing closed...then give up ...was a 4 star app..now a 2
