HOW WE INVEST
· Diversification ·
Instead of trying to pick individual stocks, Raiz diversifies your investment across hundreds of the most widely held Australian and international companies, corporate bonds, government bonds, and cash.
· Automatic Rebalancing ·
Raiz automatically rebalances your portfolio to mitigate risk and optimize returns. This means we keep your account in a target mix of stocks and bonds by buying more when they are cheaper and less when they are more expensive. Buy low, sell high.
The Raiz philosophy is to invest small amounts regularly, no matter the market conditions. We believe this is one of the keys to having a healthier balance over the long term and managing uncertainty associated with the markets.

Can't recommend highly enough
This is such a brilliant idea for anyone, but particularly those who have very little money and nothing to save, kids who have their first bank account and those who are just generally terrible at saving.
My husband and I are shockers and this has been the first time we have ever saved anything - because it's so easy, how could you not? You actually create a savings account by spending, which is what stops most people saving in the first place. It's also great for those who can't save because they literally have nothing left to save after all the bills are paid, and though many people say 'there's always something you can cut back on' for many people this is actually not true and they are living in poverty, and for those it's great to set it to automatically take the roundups and forget about it. We've been using it about a year I think and are about to reach $1000, with roundups, and a weekly deposit of $7. On top of that, the fact that it's not just saving, it's actually investing has been a great, gentle introduction to the share market and has led me to become quite interested and begin to learn more about investing in shares and take a small step in that direction. Even if you have a share portfolio or other savings and investment plans I still say, do it, every bit helps. It's a fantastic idea to set up for your kids when they have their first bank account too.
Great App - would be good to have an iPad version!!
Overall the experience with dollar cost averaging has been positive, despite investing very little I have seen a solid ~8% year over year return... this kind of return is very much on par with what I have seen through other more ‘hands on’ methods and due to the large reliance at most risk levels on index funds, these returns are more or less tracking the market.
As mentioned in the title of this review, please do consider adding an iPad version, I and several other users I have recommended the App to like using their iPads to track and manage their various investments but Raiz (previously Acorns) is cumbersome and looks awful in compatibility mode on the iPad. It would also be fantastic to add a portfolio based dividend calendar to the App, many users would benefit from this and it would be (relatively) easy to implement - would certainly be on brand with the wholistic investment and finance management experience you’re seemingly trying to implement.
Keep up the great work otherwise!
Unwittingly saved for ....
Having used the idea of putting loose change in a moneybox to save up for something/anything, I have found less & less I use actual cash. This is the same but better as they use what you have saved & turn it into more (+/- fluctuations from normal investments).
Having a small regular amount collected by them makes up for the times I do use cash for purchases & to cover the small monthly fee. The info of how much spending & forecasted spending is an eye opener as is the forecast of savings for an incentive.
Not all banks have joined in, but I hope as this catches on they will be added to the list.
I get the fees eat in & can make it seem like a waste - but having looked into who is running the app, it's a small % of what you would normally pay for their services. We can't get everything for free, even if we think we deserve it.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
