Maps lets you go from A to B, but what if you want to go from A to B to C to D? And what if you want to bring some friends?
Roadtrip lets you do that. Make a journey with as many stops as you want, and get turn-by-turn directions every step of the way. And it lets you share those journeys with your friends - and keep them in sync. Oh, and did I mention it works offline? Roadtrip keeps your driving directions forever.
MAKE LONG TRIPS
Put as many stops down as you want for any of your trips. Travel from London to Birmingham to Alton Towers to Edinburgh, or LA to Monterey to San Francisco to Cupertino. Plan your trips in advance and never get lost again! Roadtrip will keep your turn-by-turn directions forever.
Press-and-hold on any of your stops to edit their name or add your own notes. Stop names and notes are kept in sync across devices.
Roadtrip keeps your trips and driving directions forever. It also caches the maps for as long as possible. So no matter how remote your trip is, you'll still have your driving directions.
SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS
When you share a trip with a friend, they can add it to their trips and see it just like you do. And they stay in sync! When someone makes a change, it'll be updated on your friends' iPads the next time they start Roadtrip. No accounts, no passwords - it just works.
DON'T BE EVIL
We're very aware that some people will try to gather your personal information without your permission. Roadtrip will never do that. We understand that your location and your travel plans are highly sensitive information, and when you share your trips to our servers, it's secure and completely anonymous. We'll never store your name or email address, or any of your friends names or email addresses.
What's New in Version 1.1.2
Fixes a bug that caused crashes in large trips when deleting or re-ordering stops.
Lots of potential, but just a mapper for now
This app has the potential to be a helpful road trip planner tool, but for now is just a mapper, that allows you to calculated distances between points and save them.
I'd like to see them add the following:
- calendar to go with the destination (so you can really map out your trip length);
- spreadsheet type capacity to add "columns" such as accommodation you may have booked in each location, and/or points of interest at each location.
For now it is just a mapping tool, and really no more powerful than whereis etc, except you can save it as a trip with multiple points. With a little bit of work, it could become a hand trip planner.
Has potential but also buggy
Spend hours planning a trip then decide you want to delete a waypoint, guess what you can't, when you edit the app locks up.
You have to redo the entire thing.
Support, nothing there, two emails about the bug and still no response.
Does not matter how good an app is if the developer does not worry about the product after it's sold its worthless
Buggy, needs improving.
A lot of potential here but it just doesn't work. When you try deleting a waypoint it crashes, when you get a route you are happy with and then try to share it, it crashes. Such a shame as it's super easy to use and works really well when it doesn't freeze. FYI I am using ios7.1 on an ipad retina.
