Do not purchase! App needs a LOT of work

I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve had the same problems as other reviewers. The system has a lot of bugs and needs work, even though it’s had app updates. The problem is the app, or the connection between the app and camera. It needs a lot of work. When you open the app to view a live stream it takes a ridiculous amount of time to actually view. It stays on the loading screen for minutes before it shows you the live picture. So by the time you want to see something it has already gone. I sometimes have to open the open and then close it, and open it again because it will not even go to a live stream. I’ve bought a WiFi extender so it connects to the camera for a stronger signal inside the house, I’ve tested putting the camera right near the WiFi modem but it is still super slow. There is something that needs to be addressed in terms of Swann hardware, it is extremely slow for a 2018 electrical product. Don’t waste your money on this.

Live view is the main issue, I have the same issues as many other reviewers, unable to use live view, app just thinks and times out.. the action is missed with slow notifications just to name a couple .. it appears this has been going on for a while and the app still hasn’t been fixed.. will be taking my six cameras back and changing to the Arlo system .. time to listen Swann , you will lose customers from this ..
Also might be good business sense to respond to the people writing not so glowing reviews, not just cherry pick the few happy customers..! What are you going to do about this app? That’s the million dollar question.. you are selling something that doesn’t work as you say it does.

Had the camera and app now for two months. Bought to keep an eye on my dogs seeing people have been taking dogs in our area for fighting.

Camera activates and starts recording one second after motion is detected. I’ve tested this by starting a stop watch and holding it up to the camera. The footage starts at one second repeatedly.

I get the notifications when motion is detected and have had no trouble watching the recordings over 3G.

Changing settings isn’t an issue if you do it slowly and wait a second until it has changed in the app.

It can sometimes take a while to get the live view to start but this has to be expected seeing the camera has to wake up before transmitting the image. If it were constantly online the battery wouldn’t last a day.

I’ve recommended this to friends and all are equally happy.
