Good, but constant crashes :(

The game is good and constantly enjoyable. Unfortunately it constantly crashes all the time. The longest play I’ve had without a crash was about an hour and the shortest time before crash is during the opening clip before the menu. Although the game has a great autosave feature thats stops this being a major issue, this is still extremely frustrating! After all, you want to be able to enjoy the game without constant interruption.
It also seems to have a bug with not registering specified winning conditions.
If it weren’t for the crashes, the price would be quite reasonable.

Nice

It’s a good game. May be the same as tablets - but that’s not necessarily a problem. I like the extra control in combat from a pointer instead of touching the screen.
The depth of the game is enough to keep things interesting, however it does get a bit limited after a while. I’ve played about 20 hours.
It’s got enough in there to make me think about what I’m doing, but not enough to bog the game down. So it’s enjoyable.
The price point seems about right for what you get.

Excellent, Fun, Enjoying it Very Much

It's a good game on any platform. Waaaay back I used to play a game called Pax Imperia, and this is more than a worthy successor for modern macs.

There is more than enough complexity to keep you busy without needing a complex preference dialog (a really well made game frankly shouldn't need one anyway).

Graphics are great, and the gameplay is comfortable for me, the battle system suits a thinking rather than reaction time style of play that I really like.

The tech tree is looking well balanced, and I haven't had time yet to see how the economics system works on larger scale, but it looks good so far.
