When logged in with your Telstra ID, you can:

Personal customers can also:
• Check your estimated usage for home phone and broadband services
• View details of your Foxtel from Telstra services
• Check estimated early termination charges and contract end dates for eligible mobile services
• Get help with an ADSL service via an online trouble-shooter
• Request up to three home broadband data top-ups per calendar year
• Manage service settings such as PUK codes, MessageBank, premium SMS and more

If you have a Pre-Paid service, you can:
• Check your balance, usage and recharge history

Sort of all right...ish


On both the iPad and iPhone this app works to give you the basics of your Telstra account(s) and is useful to let you know where you are on bill payments and data usage.
If you want to get the full functionality of the website, though, then install Safari or Firefox and use that. This is not there yet.
Telstra - if you want to stop the negative publicity about this app then do two things.
1. Work out how to get the full functionality in the app. If I am using the app and then find I need to go into the web browser to get something done then I will just open the browser in the first place and ignore the app. There seems to be a few things the app will not do - or else the interface is just not easy to find out how to do it.
2. Users expect to be able to use landscape mode from time to time - particularly if text chatting then using an external keyboard makes life much easier. There are very few iPad apps that do not rotate. Your is one of them. Fix this.

New update Jan 2018 - App is now better (*usable) by simply adding Landscape mode (thx), which is perfect for iPad keyboard-cover usage.
The overview of accounts and data all seems very easy and accessible.

Developers : An item to Add, would be “Titles” for each account. So, allow a heading space where we can “nickname” our devices or sim numbers (and please then use this nickname as 1st reference in all screen areas, with number as secondary... if no nickname, just use number?), as this will allow easier reminder for which data sim and reporting is which device, etc.

Go back to the Apple design guide 101... "it is best to not lock the display mode into a set mode. Detect what orientation the device is at and rotate to that mode."... so, your last app was perfect (functional), yet you decided to change the whole approach and fix into Portrait mode? Why? Luckily your update method is worse than others, and you actually force a new download, separate app (not overwriting the old app), so I still have the last working version to use. Thanks for an all round poor result.

How this company gets away with not being in the headlines every week is amazing. They cause more Pain than toothache. Telstra is consistently failing in its ability to make an app or website coherent. I am not sure what bar they are trying to set, but I keep kicking my toe on it...... it takes too long to load, limited abilities, confusing pathways.. don't get me started on website which is the most frustrating web page I have experienced.. I don't even go there now. I have opted for paper mail delivery of accounts and bills because it is simpler.
The opposite can be said for the NAB banking app for example amongst many others.
Why doesn't Telstra scrap what they have tried to do, which is incorporate advertising with functionality and get back to basics. Simple, clear user interface to serve it customers...
