Trainyard is a puzzle solving game unlike any that you've ever played. It's easy to learn but very tough to master. Your job is simple: get each train to a goal station. Red trains go to red stations, blue trains go to blue stations, etc. You control the trains by drawing track for them to follow. There isn't a time limit or even a score; the only thing you need to do is figure out a solution for each puzzle.

The first few puzzles are almost too easy, but as the difficulty increases you'll be thankful that you were able to practice the fundamentals of drawing track. As the game progresses, you'll have to use colour theory to combine trains of different colours, use timing to merge and split trains, and use every inch of your brain in your quest to beat the game.

Customer Reviews

Fantastic app, however...

The game is beautifully designed. I got the Express version years ago on first release and loved it. So when I got my new iPad I decided to get the full version. It runs perfectly up until Iqaluit and Joliette. Once you complete a solution you can't simply go to the next level, you need to close the app and re-open then go back to the level list and select the next one form there. I've only played this version on my iPad Air however, so this may not be a problem on the iPhone, but it would be great to see this slight issue resolved. It just ruins the flow of the game and instigates some frustration, closing and opening the app in quick succession.

But once again, one of the best puzzle games in the store and I highly commend you on the originality. Keep up the great work in the future :)

Excellent and fascinating

I like this one a lot. A deceptively simple idea, but lots of (nice) puzzling to work out solutions which give the grey matter a good puzzle to work on with no shoot 'em up or time pressure. Definitely worth it - and great for a short break or some casual activity... I can spend a lot of time on this one.
I originally wondered if it might become less interesting as one progressed. Nope. And then here comes yet another release and more improvements. Plus it's now much easier to revisit instructions & tutes (thank you for that). Absolutely outstanding app and well worth getting. If only all apps were as excellent.

Best Game Ever

This has got to be the best game I've played on my iPod. My friend has this game and he showed me how to play! I downloaded TranYard Express and completed that so I got the bought TrainYard and completed that ;) The only thing though, just this week all the puzzles I made were just gone I didn't mind but I could not make anymore or solve anyone else's :/ I did everything! So I deleted it and reinstalled it xD I'm going well solving them all and making really good puzzles (I think) so yeah I really love this game! Thank you for making this game! ;)
