Not so good
My daughter and I (and my new granddaughter) chose this winery for our lunch today based upon previous pleasant visits; however I’m sad to report we were quite disappointed.
I must firstly say that our food was delicious, and the chef should be applauded for this.
From the blocked entrance (we had to move a table to get in as we had a pram), to the lack of staff and table service and inability to provide coffee, down graded toilet facilities and bare feeling I must say it lacks the ambiance it once had .
The usual entrance was occluded by a table so we were unable to negotiate with a pram, we had to move it to get in; we chose a table outside to enjoy the day but were hassled by March flies ( completely out of your control) so went inside to the veranda area to be assaulted by indoor insects lol; we decided to order 2 coffees but our waitress advised us we were unable to order coffee as they were short staffed today! Surely on a Gourmet weekend this should have been better organised?
Sadly the whole experience was lacking, and cold. I don’t feel the welcome is as nice as the many other wineries in this beautiful area offer, and may well drive past next time 😟
Used to be great now obsessed with sales
This used to be my ‘go to’ app for planning all holidays, domestic and abroad. However, the past couple of updates have meant it’s harder and harder to find information, such as reviews, I am seeking as Trip Advisor appears to have just become another accommodation app. It brings together a few hotel websites but I haven’t found a deal on here that hasn’t been better elsewhere and since finding the reviews or searching for information is harder and harder with each update, I’ve deleted on my phone and about to delete on iPad. Would rather look at their desktop site if needed. No longer the No.1!
Melbourne Parkview hotel St. Kilda road.
We stayed at this hotel last week.
Was very much above our expectations. The staff at the reception were so welcoming, warm and friendly and ever so helpful - very professional and knowledgeable.
A very convenient location- tram service just across the road.
Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean- loved the little dressing room, so convenient.
Breakfast was really value for money - a wide variety of food and the best coffee!!.
Special mention must be made of Glen ( in the dining room ) who was a wonderful person - warm, friendly and welcoming.
We would highly recommend this hotel and definitely stay there on our next trip to Melbourne.
