Horrible confusing app


Having used TID happily for many years through the online version and recommending it to all my friends, today it offered me a 10% discount on the quote it had given me if I used this mobile app. So of course I downloaded it. I logged in with my usual details and the app immediately said I had successfully purchased a policy. I was shocked as I hadn't made a decision yet but after calling Customer Service realized it was actually offering me an old policy as if I had just purchased it. I then went back to new quote and started again and the app then immediately tagged a 25% premium on the price I had been quoted as a stranger on the website. After another call to TID customer service they suggested I log out and start again, but then we realized there is no way to log out on the app. After another lengthy call to customer service they suggested if I wanted to log out I should delete the app and download it again!!! I had a spare 5 mins today to book travel insurance. That's how long it usually takes. So far I've been at it for an hour and still no insurance. This app should be burnt. Shocking customer experience driving me to a different insurance company after many many years with TID. If I'm being taken advantage of and offered higher premiums as a loyal customer I want no part of it.

Great advice but confusing app


He advice in this app is up there with the best I've ever seen, and I'm quite the traveller. Unfortunately the focus on insurance for your trip instead of destinations make this very confusing. Right now you enter the details for your trip (if you don't yet have a trip planned you have to make this up) then it gives you good advice with an insurance sale as well. The problem is it's very very confusing to figure out how to view advice for other places. You have to go edit trip settings, make new fake trip data, and go again. It would be nice if the workflow was around browsing advice for destinations, then viewing insurance details for your trip, instead of just the latter. Eg. Always accessible way of selecting destinations, view advice for destinations, like this destination, book or enter your trip, get insurance details, and repeat.
