Live streaming of sporting events on Tumblr in the United States features Nielsen's proprietary measurement software which will allow you to contribute to market research, like Nielsen's TV Ratings. Thanks for choosing Tumblr, a place to connect with others over shared interests.

recent updates render this app unusable
“Aha!! This is it, the perfect version!” Some software designer with a community college degree exclaims. Except it’s not. No one asked for you to change the activity feed to a point where it’s completely useless - not loading properly, constantly freezing and glitching, and what the heck is with the “____ and 5 others liked this post” like???? Thanks! I hate it.
Then there’s the most recent update of “best posts first”. For a content maker such as myself, this has been the death of my activity feed. New posts aren’t being seen. You’re pushing content makers off of your website and discouraging people from even starting in the first place. I run a blog with ~5k followers and the recent updates have absolutely killed off any real gaining of followers and notes on my creations, and so I’d shudder to think what it’s like for blogs with less than 500 followers.
By all means, keep updating the visual design of the app!! Make it as pretty/modern/whatever as you want! But pleasepleaseplease roll back these new features. No one wanted them before, no one wants them now.
Photos and Asks
Okay so I like tumblr, but being an artist that draws on the iPad it’s seriously frustrating that every time I answer an ask I have to take a photo of it and THEN add it to a separate post with the drawings instead of just simply being able to answer the ask and then instantly place in my artwork. Tumblr is a decent app but this one thing both seriously bothers me and not to mention the only real way you can get anywhere on tumblr is if someone famous reblogs one of your posts and even then most people won’t actually check out the rest of your account. Tumblr is amazing and I love the whole ask idea but it’s becoming impossible to bare with the app version, I don’t want to keep putting my art on the computer either because it lowers the quality of it.
Honestly if you’re just there to post random stuff and move on with your life then this app is for you but if you want to be here for a long time and gain a following? Not so much.
Perfect for me
Like any social media app, your experience depends on those you interact with. I’m an oldie, and I follow the most amazing artists, authors and fans. I spent the first x number of years using this on a PC and the past 14 months using the iPad app. For me, this is perfect.
My only criticism is that I wish they’d check about proposed changes rather than just foisting them on us. I tend to need to find a PC to back out of some of their changes once someone points out what they’ve done. I’d much rather have clear choices rather than having to put up with their new you-beaut ideas. I’m definitely not a teenager...
But the app itself is perfect for me.
