Absolutely AWFUL do not use !!

Angry velocity platinum flyer

I am absolutely furious with the poor functionality of this app. This is not something that should be released with so many bugs. It has a direct impact on customers ability to CHECK IN TO THIER FLIGHTS and even COLLECT BOARDING PASSES.
Why do I need to login to my velocity membership EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the app? Why can't the app save my boarding pass to special "passbook/ticket wallet" section of the app that is available offline!???
I had already checked in online and was planning to use the app for my boarding pass. I checked 4 times prior to boarding that everything was in order with the in app boarding pass. Then when I am in line to board the app will not load and tells me there is some errors, and then after reloading, tells me my flight is "outside he timeframe" and please proceed to the airport to check in.... !??? I had checked in. I WAS in the airport. I just wanted to board. This stupid app held up the line and I had to search for my passport to get a new boarding pass printed. What a joke, I expect SO MUCH MORE from Virgin products. I'm never going to open this app until you UPDATE your TERRIBLE UX and UI 😠😠
Please, please consider what your customers need this app for. The entire design is a mess. It needs to be simplified and tested properly before release.

It just doesn't work

Sometimes you here about, or see something and think "wow those sound like great features" but there's nothing worse than when the core functionality of an app just does not work. Let alone what could be a set of great features.
All I want in a mobile airline app is the following features:
- easily book flights without contending with WebKit popups
- see frequent flyer/velocity points-
Have any existing itinerary as the first thing you see when you open the app. I want to be able to open the app and find out my flight number and departure time straight away
- display or export boarding passes to wallet.
I don't usually fly with Virgin, but I travel for work and sometimes get booked on Virgin flights. I generally prefer Qantas all-round just because I like their way of doing things and I've had nothing but good experiences with them. But a flight is a flight and I wouldn't be as ticked off when a virgin itinerary comes through if I knew the app would be easy to use. When you fly all the time, you just want to get on and get off the plane and a good app like Qantas' let's you check yourself in, drop off your own bags and just get on the plane.
Good luck re-doing this one. Hope you can make something great.

Sorry guys. I'm a Platinum frequent flyer who flies on Virgin every week. No issues with your planes, your lounges or your customer service. I don't even have an issue with your website. I'm pretty undemanding all in all. However, your mobile app interfaces are just awful. This one was always slow and clunky, but it was manageable, as the concept was good. However, as the reviews above state, the functionality has all but disappeared recently, with no record of bookings, or ability to use it to fast check in. In this area, you are miles behind your competitor. While this is just another unhappy review, it would be great if you could advise what / when your fix will be, or if anything is being done to address all the issues, rather than keeping your head down and avoiding anyone's eye...

Come on Virgin, experience tells me you're better than this.
