Satisfactory but heartbreaking UX regressions

Seems to have the same functionality but to my dismay, the UX has been flushed down a porcelain throne, scooped back up with some other refuse and served up for a banquet. Off the top of my head (or bottom of my shoes?), here's a few usability treats you're in for. First, in case you forgot what carrier you're using, it looks like one fifth of an iPhone 6 screen is extravagantly dedicated to reminding you. VIRGIN MOBILE! Don't worry, they still use contractions for "standard" and "international". They at least saved that much. Expect to enjoy scrolling (and scrolling) down to big honkin' images (that are in no way buttons) for buying data packs and other "red hot extras". Next, the tab bar that made most or all the features of the app discoverable and accessible have been tucked away in a hamburger menu, hiding features for the uninitiated and make it that tap or two more difficult to give VIRGIN MOBILE! your money. For another, what's with the hypnotic marketing, flashing a massive VIRGIN MOBILE! banner at me when I go back to the home screen. I feel like I'm watching The Ring. Apple's developer documentation explains how to censor the screen without burning eyeballs. VIRGIN MOBILE! Finally, it feels clunky and awkward, making me feel as if it was done on the cheap and fake because it doesn't feel like other apps on my phone. VIRGIN MOBILE!

Disappointing

Why release a new app that does less than the original ? This new app doesn't auto update my usage when opening it, I have to manually refresh the screen each time.
The other app used to give me more data usage information e.g. 10GB of 12GB used 2GB left. This new only just shows 2GB left but doesn't show the total that was available to me for the monthly cycle. In order to check my monthly allocated data is correct, I will now need to logon to the Virgin website to check at the beginning of each month. Please fix this.

Just lazy or actually incompetent?

"Update" is a downgrade as others have said. How can Virgin Mobile seriously think it is an improvement to make customers tap more menus, swipe further down the screen, navigate more pages to get the same/less info than they got before, which used to take half the time! So are they simply lazy, they had to do an updated app and so they did this, or are they really that out of touch with reality and lack basic common sense? More intuitive + quicker to navigate + more info available = a better app - it's not rocket science!
