More than I hoped for - it’s been a huge help!!
This is an amazing vocabulary building app that has allowed me to expand my knowledge on words and use them in real life. I’ve learnt so much from this and it’s fun and easy to play. I recommend this for everyone, whether you want to improve your self or get better marks in school. This has words for every level and is helpful in every way. Plus, why stop learning?
Great but needs adjustments
Overall, this is a really good app for anyone looking to brush up on new or forgotten vocabulary.
The main drawback, in my opinion, is that many of the words are defined in a way that is only tangentially related to their real meaning.
For example: ‘encumber’ is defined as ‘hold back’ in the app. Whilst this is technically true, ‘encumber’ really means ‘weigh down’.
Another example is the word ‘transitory’. In app, this is defined as ‘short-lasting’, when in fact it merely means ‘temporary’.
This might seem pedantic, but the nuanced meaning of synonyms is kind of the entire point of learning them.
Worthwhile
Effective learning is to associate and revise, as this vocabulary builder app emphasis correcting over the words your most unfamiliar with, which moreover focuses on your weaknesses into strengths of endless supply of needed words into your vocabulary building studies, and is complimentary with the most powerful learning system ever being my own created mnemonic vocabulary flash cards. - Best thanks Mark Roberts.
