Weed ID: The Ute Guide application is designed to assist growers in the identification of the most common weeds found in paddocks throughout Australia. Where possible, photos have been provided for each stage of the weed’s lifecycle, from seed and seedling through to mature and flowering plants.
These are categorised by plant type, and results for each can be refined by state and lifecycle, and whether they are native, currently flowering or have a distinctive smell.
The application allows users to search, identify, compare photos of their own paddock weeds to those in the app.

Needs to be updated
It’s disappointing that this app has not been updated to work with the latest version of iOS.
It’s a valuable resource for landowners and I’m trying to identify an aquatic plant discovered on our farm to see if it is a weed that needs to be controlled or if it is a native that’s okay to have growing in a dam.
I’m guessing this app was created with some sort of funding that is no longer available for maintaining the app, being a GRDC resource.
Great app but poor quality pics
This app is great, but the poor quality pictures make it extremely difficult to ID many of the plants. Would love to see some higher res photos in an update.
The photos on my iPad are so out of focus and unclear in this app as to make the app absolutely useless for its stated purpose. Some of the weeds do not even have photos which makes trying to identify them futile. While this app would be a great idea, its implementation is disappointingly woeful.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
