Hoping to ignite a belly dancing craze in Spain, Madrid dance/fitness instructors and singers Victoria Gomez, Lidia Guevara, and Javi Mota formed the dance-pop group Banghra. Combining elements of music, dance, and exercise, Banghra offered the joys of belly dancing to all, regardless of age or gender. The group's La Danza del Vientre CD/DVD set featured 15 tracks of music in English and Spanish and an instructional video. Noted for the ultra-poppy single and video "My Own Way," La Danza del Vientre ultimately rose to number four on Spain's Top Ten list, thanks to its mix of a modern, urban aesthetic with sensual melodies.
