About Bantu

Growing up in Zimbabwe, Tinashe Sibanda started making beats in his mother’s living room when he was 13. Now known as Bantu, the Grammy-nominated artist writes and produces tracks for a host of brand-name stars. His credits include Jason Derulo and French Montana’s “Tip Toe”; Maroon 5’s “Whiskey”; J Balvin, Camila Cabello and Pitbull’s “Hey Ma”; and Rita Ora and Chris Brown’s “Body on Me”. He also nurtures a solo career, crafting sunny Afropop singles with fellow Zimbabwean Shungudzo. Bantu’s production style is inspired by Oliver Mtukudzi as well as US hitmakers like Missy Elliott and Pharrell Williams. “I want to show that there is so much culture and music that Zimbabwe has to offer the world," he says.
