Blocco Mentale

About Blocco Mentale

The memorably named Blocco Mentale were based in Viterbo, Italy, and are best-remembered as exponents of that faintly folky prog blend familiar to fans of Comus and Gnidrolog. Heavily influenced, too, by ecological matters, the group's debut album, Poa (Greek for "grass") appeared on the Titania label in 1973, accompanied by a single recorded at the same sessions (but absent from the LP), "L'amore muore a vent'anni"/"Lei è musica". Neither received much attention at the time, however, and Blocco Mentale faded from view soon after. ~ Dave Thompson
