BrightBlack Morning Light's music was written by N. Shineywater and R. Hughes, both from Alabama and both sharing a Creek Native American heritage. BBML enjoyed many U.S. tours and shows in San Francisco. Their release Brightblack Morning Light made the Top 50 Albums of 2006 in Rolling Stone. They then received invitations to several festivals, including All Tomorrow's Parties U.K., curated by Slint. Motion to Rejoin followed in 2008. The final BrightBlack Morning Light live show was in 2009. Shineywater continued with the project Library of Sands on the Wild Sages label, the same outlet that released the posthumous digital BBML release Live Journal One: Instrumentals 2006 & 2008. ~ John Bush
