About Hell Rell
Rapper Hell Rell (born Durrell Mohammed) gained recognition as a member of the Diplomats, a collective containing members of the Harlem-based Dipset crew. The Bronx native appeared on the Diplomats’ DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY series alongside MCs Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and others. After a serving a two-year jail sentence, the rapper released solo tracks on the 2006 mixtape STREET WANNA KNOW, followed by the full-length FOR THE HELL OF IT later that year. Like his Dipset cohorts, Hell Rell’s music is aggressive, featuring themes about thug life as well as tough, brooding production. Hell Rell maintained a steady output of tracks, on mixtapes and full-length albums, into the 2000s.
