About Leah Senior

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first album I bought was the double blue compilation of The Beatles 67-70. My dad would always sing Let It Be and I remember hearing the real thing when I bought the album and being shocked at how different it was to the song in my head. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joni Mitchell, Blue Lucy Roleff, Left Open in a Room Norma Tanega, I Don't Think It Will Hurt If You Smile I love music that is transportive, that pulls me into the ideal and imagined worlds. Lucy Roleff's music is evocative and blissfully solitary sounding. Joni needs no explanation. Norma Tanega is deeply tapped in. Her songs are goodness distilled. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Music That I Make” I like this song because it was one of the first times I allowed myself to be very direct in my writing. The writing process was joyful and felt like an emotional release. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Last year I was lucky enough to go to America with my band and support King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. The first show we played was at the Greek Theatre, Berkeley. It was right on sunset and the crowd was so warm and open. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just want to keep experimenting and releasing music and become one of those people with long grey hair who sit on the stage in runners singing gentle harmonies.
