Traditional Celtic stylist Maggie Sansone was the daughter of a jazz pianist who each year gave his daughter a new musical instrument at Christmas; a versatile talent who mastered everything from the guitar to piano to bassoon, she found her true calling as an adult, discovering the hammered dulcimer. Upon forming her own label, Maggie's Music, Sansone issued her debut LP, Hammered Dulcimer Traditions, in 1987; in addition to subsequent recordings including 1990's Mist and Stone, 1994's Dance Upon the Shore, 1998's A Traveler's Dream: Celtic Explorations, 2001's Celtic Meditations: Into the Light, 2004's Mystic Dance: A Celtic Celebration, 2007's A Celtic Fair, and 2010's Wind Drift: Celtic Grooves, Mystic Moods, she has also authored a series of music books for Mel Bay Publications. ~ Jason Ankeny
