About Moonrise Nation

Chicago's Moonrise Nation make introspective, folk-influenced indie pop marked by fluid arrangements and vocal harmonies. The band officially formed in 2013 with Emma McCall (vocals/guitar) and sisters Arden Baldinger (keyboards/vocals) and Eva Baldinger (bass/cello/vocals), all childhood friends who started making music together in high school. They recorded their debut EP with David Z., whose long résumé spans Prince, a-ha, and Buddy Guy. David's brother Bobby Z (Prince and the Revolution) signed them to his Zinc Records label, which released Moonrise Nation in 2014. Stephen Shirk of SHIRK Studios (HearYa Live Sessions) produced the band's full-length debut, Glamour Child, which arrived in July 2017. It was followed a month later by an Audiotree Live session EP. ~ Marcy Donelson
