About Rich Kidd

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My mother bought me a toy microphone and guitar when I was 6. She used to dress me up and videotape me performing covers of New Edition and Michael Jackson. When I look back at that footage it affirms where I got the love of music from. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Clipse, Lord Willin' JAY-Z, The Blueprint Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Lord Willin’, sonically is so diverse and innovative. To Pimp A Butterfly is such a concise and well executed concept album. The Blueprint sees Jay-Z at his most lyrically comfortable, adept and profound. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “I'd Be Lying” It’s one of the most introspective songs I have ever made. I talk about therapy, self doubt, problems in my relationship and my self destructive behaviour. I made it for the ones who can relate to these issues to let them know they’re not alone. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments in my career is getting a Gold certification for “I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman” by k-Os. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get a plaque in my life but I was happy I did. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of course. I want to have a platinum plaque. I want to help a local artist I work with gain international fame. I want to perform in Japan.
