Description

The highly anticipated start of a new romantic suspense series from the beloved, USA Today bestselling author of Ten Tiny Breaths.

Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.

The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.

Customer Reviews

Brilliant

Every so often you read a book that stops you in your tracks. When you finish you are left speechless, you can't find words to describe or express how you feel. This is how we felt after finishing Burying Water. KA Tucker is an incredible writer, she captures your attention in the prologue and keeps you captivated from the first chapter. Burying Water is beautifully weaved between dual POV and past and future chapters. Every chapter giving you a small piece leaving your mind running wild with theories. This book is fast paced, heart wrenching and full of suspense.

“The mind can be a deceitful thing.
But it is no match for the heart.”

What would it be like waking up in a hospital bed learning you are lucky to be alive after sustaining some horrific injuries? You have no memory of how you got there, and worst of all no memory of who you are. You're known as Jane Doe.

“What if I don't remember anything?”
What if I simply...exist in the present.”

Not wanting to be called Jane Doe she decides on the name Water. Thanks to the kindness of those who cared for her she is able to have a fresh start. One of those people happen to be the boy next door, Jesse. Jesse knows who she is, their story will have you gripping your seat as you move through the past and present. Slowly we discover what led to Water’s attack, how Jesse and Alex/Water first met and how their relationships developed.

“The truth is like water: it doesn't matter how hard you try and bury it; it'll always find some way back to the surface. It's resilient.”

Burying Water will consume you, you will want to read it from cover to cover. Jesse and Alex/Water’s love story isn't one made of fluff or with roses, it's painful, heart breaking and their love is resilient.

“Here, right now.
Here, in my life.
Just as he always seems to be.
Here. For me.”
