Crime and punishment is Lieutenant Eve Dallas's business. Murder her speciality. Named by the social worker who found her when she was a mere child roaming that city's streets, Eve Dallas is a New York police detective who lives for her job. In over ten years on the force, she's seen it all - and knows her survival depends on her instincts. But she's going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, a charismatic Irish billionaire - and a suspect in Eve's latest murder investigation.
But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it's up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about - except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.
Surprisingly good :)
As a die hard sci-fi reader, this was an unusual choice for me. And I made the mistake of reading a couple of reviews (which weren’t great). Having said that I have to say I enjoyed this from the get-go, finishing it as quickly as I could.
It’s a blend of sexy thriller with a good looking cop being ‘romanced’ by an astonishingly good looking guy who just happens to be as rich as .... (aren’t they always:).
So, it’s many years in the future and she’s chasing a killer of women with six in their sights. While fairly rapidly falling for the rich dude.
It’s fun, moves at a great pace, light touch to the writing, but pretty awe full at ‘the future’ thing.
The reviews; I suspect they were written by folk who deal with ‘womens’ stories, and suffered because if it.
But for a splash into a different pool of story telling - it was fun.
A good story 4/5
Absolutely loved this book!
Two of these a year is not enough...!
