Shadows of the Realm
Book 1, The Circle of Talia - Circle of Talia, Book 1
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Bronwyn and Blayke are two strangers being drawn into the same war. Their world is facing invasion from the Third Realm. While they move unknowingly toward each other, they are watched, hunted, and sabotaged. When the Dragon God interferes, it seems their world, Talia, will succumb to the threat. Can they learn enough of the tricks of the Realms before it’s too late, or will everything they love be destroyed?
The young Realmists’ journey pushes them away from all they’ve known, to walk in the shadows toward Vellonia, city of the dragons, where an even darker shadow awaits.
New Mythology.. "feistian" pre-"Game of Thrones" style epic..
Incredibly well written fantasy: elements of Raymond Feist and Davis Eddings in style.
Dionne creates a new Mythology - wherein humanity has it's tales of the fantastic, it's own religion and legends, she imbues her Dragons with a likewise primitive humanity, and in turn culture.
Rather uniquely, the perspective of multiple protagonists drive the narrative forward - the tale of an atypically grown up style, worthwhile to sit upon the shelves beside other great works from fantasy genre authors - certainly welcoming further works within the world of "Talia" - would make a seriously great film.
A great read: look forward to her NEXT book.
Simplistic language and dragon protagonists? LAME!
Plodding plot and simple language with no room for your mind to paint a picture.
Good story line and quite entertaining but it could have been written better. The characters say some things strangely and it makes the book feel disjointed and the characters less real.
